Costume: young boy

The costume drawing were initially in colour, however, the scanner would not allow colour. The jumper was a standard red primary school colour and the trousers were black.

Casting

I am extremely confident with my choice of casting as both of the actors chosen have sufficient acting skills to be able to portray their roles in a convincing and professional manner.

Magazine cover

I feel that my magazine cover is an accurate representation of something that a large company such as Empire would create if they were top do a cover story on my film. The lego provides a clear link directly to the film but also adds colour other than red to the cover making it more appealing and attractive to the eye and therefore making it more likely that a customer will choose to pick up the magazine and read it. I also incorporated separate stories that would also be on a magazine cover in order for it to seem more professional as I learnt from my research into magazine covers that it is extremely rare that a front cover of a magazine shows only one story, as this would eliminate anyone who is not particularly interested in the main story as a customer. If the people who are not necessarily interested in the story on my film but pick up the magazine for one of the other stories shown on the front cover then read the feature on my film, it may create an interest and lead to an increased audience to my film.

Poster

I am very proud of my poster and feel like it accurately reflects the theme of constraint and resisting against these constraints that are evident in my film. It includes the tagline and all of the information that the audience will need in order to be able to plan to go and watch the film if they do not see the trailer and receive the information that way. I had the idea to print off the templates which young children use when learning to write for the main focus point of my poster as I felt that they are particularly effective at conveying a multitude of themes such as childhood, innocence, restrictions and breaking the mould.

Titles

To create the titles for my trailer I decided to use LiveType as it allows me to make professional looking, genre fitting titles. I have decided on a childish looking font in the four main block colours of lego (red, green, yellow and blue) in order to add to the theme of childhood in my trailer. The effects allow me to create a more Kitsch style of titles in order to fit in with the independent nature of my film.

Shooting schedule

Due to the need for continuity etc, I decided that filming my trailer over a very short period of time (two days) would be the best option for my trailer. With this is mind I decided to use two days as opposed to one in order to reduce the volume of filming as I fear that quality may be sacrificed to quantity if te volume of filming that had to be done on one day was too large.

Initial thoughts on magazine cover

Initial thoughts on poster

I want to keep the poster fairly simplistic to reflect the supposed simplicity of childhood. To do this I had the idea to use the tracing tool that is used by most children when they are learning to write to spell out the name of my film. I will then have the films details such as release date at the bottom of the poster written in clearly childish writing.
